The Adidas Tech Super, originally debuted in 1992 buy athletes at the Barcelona Olympics was released as a retro this year much to my joy. It was a model not often found on ebay due to any put up being snapped up faster than the USA basketball dream team could put the ball in the.....er.....basket.
For me it has the right amount of technical innovation and flowing lines to appeal to my love of late 80s and early to mid 90s running shoes.Launched along with the Torsion Allegra X (which seems to have become an afterthought over at Adi HQ) in January it has taken on various colourways and had a few collaborators in the form of a Size? exclusive double pack and a consortium release as seen below.

One of the Size? interpretations
And as we enter the second half of the year this week we get news of up to 7 more styles to be released in the near future. Available for preorder at Hanon and Endclothing in two snakeskin make ups ,of which I am eying up the white and in a clean white with blue highlights and red detailing.
And in the ever advancing world of trainers the Tech Super has advanced in design and bore a new model called the 2.0 or Technica depending on where you obtain your info from. This has a sock liner with pull tags on the heel, tongue cut away, separated stripes from the main body. The versions seen below have leopard print lining and also come in an olive colour make up. I get the impression there will be more to come from this model but in my title I do say "shoe of the year so far",well there is an absolute belter scheduled for release later this year so the Tech Super has its work cut out but so far it's a 10/10 from me.
